General Description:

VanAire, a military friendly employer, in Gladstone, Michigan is accepting applications for the position of full-time, Shipping position. The hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 to 5:00.

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):

• Must be able to pass physical, including lifting 50 lbs.
• Able to use/read gauges, calipers, tape measures, pin gauges, dial indicators and micrometers along with other measuring devices.
• Able to use and understand shop math.
• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Must give attention to detail and be able to detect visual defects.
• Experience working with metals preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints is preferred.
• 2 years of experience in the machining industry is preferred.

Duties:

• Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure quality specifications.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compensation and benefits:

• An hourly wage will be determined pending education and experience
• Company paid medical insurance upon completion of 90-day Probationary period
• Simple IRA match up to 3% gross upon completion of 90-day Probationary period

• Wage ranges from $14.00 to $17.00 depending on experience
