Couplings

ISO defines the coupling as “the driven components in a mounting kit that allow torque transmission from an actuator to the valve stem/shaft.” It’s the key transmitter of torque and should be considered as such.

It is imperative that the coupling is designed and manufactured in a way that helps ensure alignment of the valve stem and the actuator drive; otherwise, it may result in premature failure of the actuated valve assembly.
