Locking Kits

Locking kits are used with automated valves to prevent valve rotation, i.e. “locking out.” This device is engineered to keep a valve in a safe, locked position, either open or closed. This allows the maintenance team to safely and securely work on other parts of the system without concern that the valve will be accidentally actuated.

VanAire’s locking kits are designed and engineered considering the following:

  • Open-style brackets are engineered to incorporate a locking plate, whereas spools have a slot machined into them to accommodate the pin
  • Couplings and locking pins are made of high-strength materials to resist contact stresses
  • Locking pin’s geometry is sufficient to resist shearing and bending
  • Locking pin absorbs actuator torque in double shear mode to eliminate distortion
  • Locking pins are slotted to directly accept a locking device
